Waste disposal is the process of collecting, processing and storing liquid and solid waste materials. It also includes a method for disposing of hazardous wastes. Several methods exist for waste disposal, including landfilling and incineration. Recycling has become one of the most popular waste management techniques. It involves separating waste by material type and reusing these materials to make new products. Formal waste management organizations are regulated bodies that follow laws and rules for the sector. Informal waste management is often done by individuals, such as waste pickers, who work for unregistered companies and aren’t compliant with local regulations. Waste Disposal in Hanau – Expert Solutions for Every Job
Heraeus Precious Metals is expanding its precious metal recycling plant in Hanau, Germany. The investment is part of a EUR 300 million global expansion program at all Heraeus recycling sites. The Hanau site is expected to produce ten times as much platinum group metals (PGM) as it did in 2018. The expansion will enable Heraeus to meet the high demand for these valuable raw materials and contribute to the sustainable operation of its plants worldwide.
The new capacity will be powered by green electricity from the adjacent power station, which is owned and operated by Siemens. Heraeus is committed to sustainably sourcing all of its energy requirements from renewable sources and is set to achieve CO2-neutral operations by 2025. This is a clear commitment to the environment and to the local community. PGM are used as catalysts in exhaust gas purification and in the production of green hydrogen, fertilizers and cancer therapy medicines. They have unique physical and chemical properties that cannot be replicated with any other material.
